He currently performs on classical guitars made by Roy Courtnall, with whom Rob is collaborating on an ongoing project, working to create guitars which optimise the sound and character of the classical guitar in performance environments. Rob has a great interest in the design of the classical guitar and is a frequent visitor to the Newark School of Guitar Making where he assesses and advises the guitar-making students.

Rob Johns is a classical guitarist and guitar teacher of considerable reputation and experience. Based in Lincoln, United Kingdom, he has performed extensively throughout Britain and has taught many students who have gone on to pursue successful careers as professional performers, composers and teachers.

Audiences find Rob's recitals engaging, uplifting and exciting; he interprets music from a wide range of periods, as well as including his own highly evocative compositions. His students benefit from the skills, experience and encouragement of an inspirational teacher who works with them to achieve their full potential as performers.
