We have competition classes for amateur composers of all levels, from beginner to advanced. Whether you are writing your Opus 1, are composing for your GCSE or A-Level, or already have an impressive portfolio to your name, we can offer you a platform. Receive constructive feedback from an active composer, and even win a medal or the trophy!
At Leicester MusicFest we believe that musicians of all ages can learn a lot by being immersed in all kinds of music-making, so come along to our workshops and masterclasses, get ideas from our competitions, and enjoy our inspiring concerts.
Are you a teacher?
If you are a teacher or school representative interested in entering several students, email email@example.com for assistance. We welcome entries of GCSE and A-Level compositions, and hope our feedback can be useful in making the final tweaks before submission.
We have two composition classes:
- Junior (ages 18 and under)
- Open (no age restriction)
We welcome submissions up to 7 minutes in length, for any of the following instruments:
- Pipe Organ
- Solo Voice, or ensemble/choir up to 4 parts (e.g. SATB, SABar etc.)
- Classical Guitar
- Any combination of the above
More detailed information about the competition requirements can be found in the syllabus.
