Composition

Composition competitions

We have competition classes for amateur composers of all levels, from beginner to advanced. Whether you are writing your Opus 1, are composing for your GCSE or A-Level, or already have an impressive portfolio to your name, we can offer you a platform. Receive constructive feedback from an active composer, and even win a medal or the trophy! Winning compositions will be performed by professionals at our Gala Concert on Sunday 14th February.

At Leicester MusicFest we believe that musicians of all ages can learn a lot by being immersed in all kinds of music-making, so come along to our workshops and masterclasses, get ideas from our competitions, and enjoy our inspiring concerts.

Are you a teacher?

If you are a teacher or school representative interested in entering several students, email leicestermusicfest@gmail.com for assistance. We welcome entries of GCSE and A-Level compositions, and hope our feedback can be useful in making the final tweaks before submission.
