Widening access to music and education is at the heart of what we do. We aim to foster a culture of musical discovery, and each year, we run free outreach projects in Leicester to help young people access and enjoy high-quality music-making.

This year, in light of COVID-19, we have made all of our 2021 events free to access online, as we believe it is absolutely critical that music is kept alive in a time where live music-making is all but impossible.

Previous projects have included a full-scale opera, a workshop with the National Youth Choir, and 'Come and Sing Carmina Burana' - bringing together three schools, a massive chorus, professional soloists, two pianos, and a whole load of percussion!

Tunes & Tales

Summer 2021

We want to hear all about your favourite books, stories, and poems that you've been reading and writing this year.

Using a group of classical musicians who improvise, we aim to bring another dimension to your stories, by taking inspiration from the words, and making up a musical piece on the spot in a unique concert!

We would love to hear from you - would your school like to get involved?

For more information, or to take part, email leicestermusicfest@gmail.com

or call Avalon Summerfield (Events Coordinator) on 07538 727920.

What would your favourite story sound like as a piece of music?
