Tim Morgan grew up in Leicester and received his early musical education as a treble at St James the Greater and as a member of the orchestras of Leicestershire Arts, the local music service. He then decided to follow a career in music after learning with Tom Williams and being a choral scholar with Leicestershire Chorale. Tim recently completed his postgraduate studies at the Royal College of Music in London. A Samling Artist, he was a finalist in the 2019 Kathleen Ferrier Awards.
Opera and stage highlights include the title role in Handel’s Giulio Cesare for English Touring Opera*, Gabriel at the Barbican with the English Consort under Harry Bicket, Oberon A Midsummer Night’s Dream for Nevill Holt Opera, Cupid in Blow’s Venus and Adonis with The Dunedin Consort, Gernando in Faramondo at the London Handel Festival, and a European tour of Monteverdi's L'Orfeo with The Monteverdi Choir.
Highlights on the concert platform include Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater with the OAE, a staged performance of Bach’s St John Passion with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment under Sir Simon Rattle and Peter Sellars, Arsace in Berenice with La Nuova Musica and at the London Handel Festival where he also performed High Priest in Esther, Purcell’s King Arthur with Vox Luminis, and a duet recital with Michael Chance.
Future engagements include the title role in Handel’s Amadigi di Gaula for English Touring Opera and Sosarme at the Göttingen International Handel Festival.
